Melissa Gale "Lisa" McPherson is currently licensed to practice law in Arkansas state and federal courts. She joined the Law Office of Hawley Holman as an associate after serving as a law clerk with Holman & Langdon, LLP. Lisa graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's William H. Bowen School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in December of 2006. She obtained her Arkansas bar license in Spring of 2007. While attending law school Lisa served on the UALR Law Review for three years as Assistant Symposium Editor, Assistant Technical Editor, and Assistant Executive Editor. She was also the recipient of the Law Review Apprentice of the Year; received the Cali Award of Excellence in Reasoning, Writing, and Advocacy II; and was selected to serve as a student member of the William H. Overton Inn of Courts in Little Rock. Lisa is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, Texarkana Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the American Association for Justice. Born and raised in Crossett, Arkansas, Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, in 1989. She later taught English and Journalism in public schools for approximately ten years and is still certified as a secondary teacher in both Texas and Arkansas. She and her husband David have two boys, Marshall and Carter.
